Kaitlyn Yates
Future Elementary Educator
I am a grad student at Ball State University. I graduated in December 2023 with a major in general studies and a minor in psychology of human development. I currently am working towards my master's in education through the Transition to Teaching program. My ideal career is teaching young students in an inner-city school system.
What I do
I am a future educator with a passion for teaching all learners. I believe that students perform their best when they are interested in the material and are challenged without being overwhelmed. I work to individualize my instruction to fit the needs of individual students.

I am very outgoing and build solid, professional relationships with peers and superiors. I exhibit strong communication and organization skills. I am familiar with the use of instructional technology. I take constructive criticism well and use it to advance my skills as a future educator.

About Me
I am a grad student at Ball State University pursuing my master's degree in elementary education. I have professional experience in the classroom for three years. I spent two years in a high school vocational program held at a special education facility. I have had field experience through my university for 3 months. Most recently, I was a Title One Aide in which I led my own reading and math intervention groups.
3 Fun Facts About Me:
1. I shaved my head for St. Baldrick’s Foundation in 2021 and donated 18” of hair to Wigs for Kids!
2. I am on Muncie's Cornfed Roller Derby team.
3. I can say the alphabet backwards as fast as I can say it forwards.
